About The Authors
Discovery’s Wheeler Dealers star Mike Brewer has spent most of his 43 years selling thousands of motor vehicles. No-one knows what to look for in the second-hand market better.
He’s also got a passion for gadgets – which he indulged in Discovery’s Remote Madness.
His mission is opening up the often secretive world of second-hand car dealing to the general public.
He’s known as the most honest voice in car buying, with columns in Esquire and Auto-Express.
Mike’s got heaps of awards – none of which he sells second-hand.
Formula 1, computers and ‘toys for boys’ vie for a place in Brewer's heart, and beside his passion for cars he is also a keen flyer of model helicopters, for which he has won, yes, more awards. He is the current holder of the British 24hr endurance record. No-one’s sure what he endured, though.
He lives in North Oxford with his wife Michelle and their daughter Chloe.
And lots and lots of pieces of cars. And awards.

Danielle McCormick is the author of Essential Car Care for Girls. After wasting thousands of pounds through a self inflicted blown head gasket, she decided to teach herself how to fix her car.
Danielle then decided to tell other women just how easy car maintenance can be, and a phenomenon was born.
Her clear and concise, step-by-step book became a hit with girls (and boys!) in her native Ireland, going on to be a bestseller, and it's now storming the charts in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
It was in WHSmiths' chart for Christmas 2008.
Danielle’s proved that even the girliest of girls can get her hands dirty – and give a car a clean bill of health.
And mechanics don’t call her ‘darling’ anymore. Or overcharge.
Danielle is Jump Start’s car maintenance expert and each week she will be telling you everything you need to know about owning and running.

Hi I’m Julian. Some of you may know me from Chop Shop on Discovery Channel. I’m quite easy to spot – I’m the good looking one! Apart from Bernie, of course! (Bernie, about the pay rise…?)
I’m 35 with a family and I’ve been panel beating and working on cars for about 18 years. There’s has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears in that time!
I spent two years on Chop Shop (and that really was where the sweaty bits happened!). Then I did two years at Norwich Union where I became supervisor of the body-shop. I’m still there working as a panel beater – but now I’m in charge, running the panel shop.
Here’s just some of the work I’ve done over the years:
I’ve built kit cars, done Jig work, salvaged wrecks, fitted body kits, added roll cages, lambo and gull wing doors. There’s been fabrication work, interior design, dashboards. I’ve basically customised anything that moves… the list is endless!
So I’ll end the list here, before you start to shed tears!
Basically, if it’s a motor, I can make it amazing.
Oh, and here’s my motto:
“However long you have been in the game, you never stop learning!”
Lee Taylor is head mechanic Bernie’s sidekick from Discovery’s Chop Shop 2.
It’s well known that he has perhaps just a slight passion for the Ford Motor Company and modified cars.
Lee has had a passion for cars from a young age - especially Fords - and so naturally started his working career at his local Ford dealer.
He’s worked hard to be the best he can be, in a tough industry, and is now a certified Master Technician.
He’s passionate about any modified motor and he’s modified every car he has ever owned. And indeed even some he hasn’t. No car is safe from Lee’s toolkit. His mum was quite surprised when she last took her car out to the shop.
Lee is an RS Owners & Passion Ford member and regularly attends local meets and national car shows to see what’s what, what’s new and get inspiration for his own projects.
Of which he admits he has far too many.
He does not own any shares in Ford.
